Anchor Construction was chosen to perform design and construction management services for an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) tote system at Fastenal’s North Carolina distribution center. Anchor designed and built an ASRS with an associated low bay sorting area. The building consists of a pre-engineered building, masonry, a rack-supported structure, and insulated metal panels on the body of the ASRS structure.
An integral part of Anchor’s design was to complete construction without disrupting production in the existing warehouse and operations. Once construction was complete, Anchor coordinated with the client and installer to integrate the ASRS conveyor system into the building’s existing conveyor infrastructure.
