This ground-up project was on a 46-acre parcel with a 20-acre building site including 240,000 SF under roof with a future expansion potential of 121,000 SF. This project includes a 50 ft. tall, 35,500 SF. Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) with six crane aisles and 116,000 tote locations. The facility also has 26 truck docks and parking spaces for 342 cars. The build site is bordered on three sides by protected forest and required our engineers and architects to adjust for a 20 ft. grade elevation change across the project without the use of retaining walls.
Anchor Construction coordinated the erection of the ASRS as a rack-supported structure in a seismic zone with strict flatness and rebar placement tolerances in the foundation. Critical scheduling for crane protection and installation was also required. The ASRS was carefully integrated into the rest of the building, which includes 30,000 SF of mezzanine along with a two-story 14,000 SF office space. Within the office space is a highly specialized Data Center that coordinates and drives the cranes, conveyor, and sales system.
