Anchor Construction was awarded a design-build project for Summit County Resource Allocation Park. The project includes designing and constructing a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and Scale House to expand the county’s recycling abilities and accommodate its growing community, as the county’s permanent residential population has grown by 11% from the 2010 census. Anchor paid particular attention to the community’s needs and the site’s unique conditions to bring this project to life. The site’s size constraints limited where the MRF building could be built, so Anchor reworked the site’s geometry and altered the building shape to fit. The buildings were designed and constructed to limit disruption to landfill operations during the construction phases. The construction of this facility will allow the county to recycle more materials and will be a positive addition to the community.
