This project included complete design utilizing Anchor’s in-house staff. These services included full design and engineering of site stormwater improvements; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design; architectural design; public meeting presentations, and variance approvals. Early in the process, Anchor recognized an opportunity to apply for a variance to reduce exterior façade requirements. Upon presenting and obtaining approval, Anchor realized savings to the client of nearly $300,000.
The construction of this facility met critical milestones to achieve equipment testing and commissioning of the recycling equipment, with the milestone of opening the office wing following closely behind. The utilization of our design-build approach allowed for the success of the construction schedule, seamlessly integrating our entire team to streamline the decision-making process and an accelerated schedule, despite nearly 40 lost days due to weather throughout the construction process. This project was a big success for the client in meeting contractual requirements with the City of Plano.
