Anchor Construction was chosen to perform design and construction management services for an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) tote system at Fastenal’s Pennsylvania distribution center. Anchor designed and built an ASRS with an associated low bay sorting area. The building consists of a pre-engineered building, a rack-supported structure, and insulated metal panels on the body of the ASRS structure.
Anchor worked with the geometry of the site to best place the ASRS addition to maximize the site’s efficiency and provide space for future expansion of both the ASRS and warehouse. The site also presented challenges with significant elevation changes that Anchor’s civil design team was able to minimize for the client to maximize their useable site space.
