7,055-sf Modular Office Building

Office

Chesterton, IN

Anchor Construction provided design-build services for a project involving the construction of a 7,055-sf modular building. The building was designed to provide additional office space for Republic Services in Chesterton, IN, and was the company’s first modular building in the area. Modular buildings are constructed to expand existing office space or to provide office space where there is none. This approach is more cost-effective than building a new office from scratch.

The new building was equipped with new utilities, a parking lot, and a drainage pond. The parking lot had 13 bays for trucks, each with block heaters. The building was brought in by ten 12’ x 60’ sections and set with a crane. The foundation was made of concrete and had a 4′ crawl space. The on-site finishing work included windows, cabinets, tile showers, and countertops. The building features offices for the Dispatch, the Operations Manager, the Division Manager, and Operations Supervisors. Additionally, it has a conference room, a break room with a kitchenette, and locker rooms with shower rooms.
