In 2016 Anchor began the development of approximately 80 acres of farm ground for an Elkhart-based business. The project required re-platting for utility easements and working with the local gas company for the provision of a large quantity of gas supply for a powder coat facility. Working directly with the powder coat equipment provider contracted by the client, Anchor designed and constructed an 81,000 SF facility adequately sized to accommodate the needs of the equipment. This included properly sized and located pits, containment areas, air turnover, oven stack penetrations, water supply, and safety measures.
Following the powder coat facility, Anchor constructed a 90,000 SF building in three 30,000 SF increments to facilitate robotic welding and parts assembly. Anchor designed the property layout with long-term expansion in mind to accommodate the client’s plans for future growth.
