Anchor Construction’s Commitment to Wetland Conservation: Supporting Ducks Unlimited’s Mission to Restore North American Wetlands

Anchor Construction has been a proud supporter of Ducks Unlimited for many years. Anchor’s support stems from their shared commitment to preserving North America’s wetlands where possible. Ducks Unlimited’s mission is to restore nearly half of the continent’s wetlands that have been lost or degraded. Through the dedication of volunteers and members, their collaborative conservation efforts help to restore critical waterfowl habitats, safeguard outdoor traditions for future generations, and promote environmental sustainability and resilient communities.

Thanks to Anchor’s support, alongside other donors, Ducks Unlimited has been able to advance projects like the Cedar Swamp Wetland, furthering its wetland conservation goals. In 1989, Ducks Unlimited provided funding to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to help acquire this site, which had been drained and used as pastureland. A water control structure was then installed to restore the wetland, which had remained dry for over a century. By 2015, the structure had deteriorated, and in 2020, Ducks Unlimited partnered with organizations such as the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to replace it, securing the wetland’s future. This effort was funded through the North American Wetlands Conservation Act, with Anchor’s contributions playing a vital role in the preservation of this valuable ecosystem.

Anchor is excited to continue this important partnership and looks forward to collaborating on future projects like this.
