Anchor Construction is proud to announce that we have been named a 2023 Varco Pruden Hall of Fame Best of Category winner in the manufacturing category for our 2022 design-build project for Transcendia in Hebron, Ohio. Transcendia is a global plastic films and products manufacturer, operating 18 facilities globally. This expansion in Ohio was a ground-up project consisting of a 52,000-SF production and warehouse space and a 13,000-SF two-story office space.
Anchor coordinated the project from start to finish, overseeing all aspects of the design and construction. Building concepts, civil site design, architectural and structural design, and construction management were all performed by Anchor. This project also met critical milestones required by the client, including the official groundbreaking ceremony with local elected officials, the planned equipment installation, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The design pays special attention to Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification requirements and coordination with the routing of cable trays for electrical equipment connections and resin-handling equipment for the plastic production processes.
Other key features of this project include the following:
- An 85-foot tall “high bay” to house the plastics production equipment.
- A maintenance area with an overhead crane and truck doors for shipping and receiving operations.
- Excavation of nearly 15 feet due to an existing slope that needed to be graded flat.
- A quarter mile of rail spur to service the new building.
